Yeah, there's some ligament damage... not too bad right now, he says... and did I know I have some arthritis in that thumb joint?

I did not. But I know now! LOL

I'm in a splint for two weeks, and if it doesn't "settle down," I go back and see him.

My appointment was at 3:30. I got in to see him at 5:00... I was home by 5:40... and I stopped and bought a loaf of bread on my way home. No kneading dough with this going on....LOL

I'm so tired and headachy right now... (dratted florescent light)... that I've taken my pain meds etc and I'm going to BED!

Just FYI,,, it's now not quite 7:30...

...and Libby, the doctor's assistant put the splint on my hand before I left his office--and Medicare is paying for it! SOMETIMES, the medical system here actually works! LOL

I've had arthritic thumb joints for years.....and like everything else I have, they are subject to flare-ups. And they can be VERY painful.....so I really feel your pain, Kath. For about $10, you can buy a hand/thumb splint - to wear and keep it immobile. It slips on like a compression glove, with a metal 'thingy' inserted where the thumb joint is --- so it stays quiet. It's good to sleep in ..... I got mine in a local chain drug store.....
If your doctor prescribes it, maybe insurance will pay for it.
It really helps....

I DO do dishes pretty regularly, thank you very much! LOL
I've been turning that faucet on every day for more than two years without incident... but there have been a few odd moments over the last several months. I didn't much think about it when they happened so I never said anything to anyone, but looking back...

...I'm thinking there's a pre-existing issue and the faucet was the last straw so to speak... figures. LOL Well, I'll know more in two weeks, I guess... or not. LOL
