What can I do to make it different this time?

Plenty of times I have felt resolved...until a cheese plate comes along or a good bottle of wine. Neither of which in itself is a huge deal breaker. But one shared bottle turns into two, then dessert. Then willpower is shot, a late night snack. Then carbs the next day to soak up the residual wine...and of course too tired to hit the gym. Especially this time of year, this trap is so easy to fall into. Well I'm going to try really hard to make it different this time, starting with giving up the alcohol, whether its subconscious or not it does lower the resolve to stick with the diet and get my tush moving. I won't die without eggnog and cider this holiday season!
