I am capable of...

“The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.” Arthur C. Clarke

I am constantly telling myself that I can't do something or that I'm crazy to try... who says??
The more I run, the more I realize that I CAN run. The more my husband is injured and can't do things, the more I realize that I CAN. (I moved my son's huge bed this weekend - and put up a curtain rod... level, I might add! Oh yeah, I replaced my headlight in my car too!)

I used to think I could do anything. Then I got used to having someone else around to do those things (like changing my oil, which I used to do myself) and "forgot" how capable I really am.

What are you capable of that you psyche yourself out of??

Becky - I've never done a race with a strict time limit... but, if it was me (especially since you already bought your ticket!), I would do it and do my best. So what if they "close" the race before your done. Maybe you won't get the whatever they give you at the end, but you WILL have the self accomplishment of knowing you did it and you did your best!

this is a good question for me right now! i decided to go to the keys and do that race. But the thing is that i kind of didnt' really take into consideration is that there is a time limit on the race. it's 6.8 miles and you have to run it in a little under a 12 minute mile. remember i'm 100 pounds overweight. i think right now with my run/walking i'm running a 16 something minute mile. Not sure if i realisticially can do this and train to run that fast by april 13th!!

There is not one thing that I limit myself to because I am a firm believer that a person can do anything that they set their heart and mind to accomplish with a good straight forward plan to get it finished.

It feels so good to know that we are very capable to being multifaceted usedful in day to day living doesn't it? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

This is a great post! You're kicking major butt! Especially on teaching yourself that you can run!

I'm pretty incapable when it comes to feats of strength or mechanical ability, but I have learned I can set an exercise schedule and stick to it {almost 6 weeks now!}. I felt like it took a superhuman to do that, and I defeated myself before I even started. But after seeing in black and white how bad my health numbers are, that motivated me enough to keep me going back day after day.

I have also learned that even if I can't crochet, I can still make some crafts. Just because I always told myself I was bad at crafts doesn't mean it has to be true.

Thanks for giving myself a reason to see I'm more capable than I thought!
