Looking back on 2012, now that the year is almost over, I can honestly say that this has been the year that I really came into my own as a person who feels empowered and in control of my health and weight management.
I started off the year about 20 pounds heavier than where I am now, lost the last bit of my weight and reached my initial goal in March. I spent the next few months settling into maintenance and have been within range since then. In addition to reaching my personal health and weight-related goals, I've also become more active on the At Goal & Maintaining + Transition to Maintenance team, including becoming a leader this past summer, here on SparkPeople and have worked to raise awareness for people who are at or near goal so we have the motivation and support that's needed to reach and stay at goal.
After many years of yo-yo dieting, I finally feel like I'm in a good stable place and am confident that I've developed the skills to keep this up permanently. As the year comes to a close, I'd like to thank everyone who's offered their support and encouragement along the way, especially my personal buddies MANDELOVICH, PRESBESS and MARIA_VIGS, as well as my maintenance mentor 4A-HEALTHY-BMI. You've helped me more than you'll ever know!
I'm looking forward to another wonderful, successful year and hope that all of my SparkFriends will stay active in 2013. Let's make this the best year ever!
