As is the case most mornings, this morning while straightening up the house, I found myself walking from one end of the house to the other. Then back again, and again. And again. Why not make this count ??
And in an attempt to create a list of fitness options that fits MY life, I decided to accomplish two goals with one gallant effort. (I think that sounds way better than killing two birds with one stone.)
So, on my next trip through the house, I didn't take the shortest route from here to there... I walked the outside perimeter of the rooms. Then I walked a loop around the island in the kitchen. In my office, I pulled the hassock away from the chair and walked a figure 8 around them. Then I did the same thing with the piano bench and keyboard. Then I pulled the recliner away from the wall and walked circles around it and the coffee table. You get the idea.
Then, I began to pump my arms like when I used to run. Okay, I did a couple laps like that. Now I'm starting to break a sweat. Then I started cornering alternating between 'airplane' and 'Superman' style (one arm out front or side, guiding my flight).
Okay, by now, Bad Leroy Brown is starting to freak out, looking at me as if to say "What's up with mom?"
Well, that backfired on him cos I said "you little tugboat, you need some exercise too!" So I grabbed one of his treats and teased him with it until he started chasing me.
I'm REALLY glad we live out in the country on 5 acres with a gate across the driveway so none of the neighbors can see what's going on inside!
That was fun!
