So yes, this blog is intitled as "Ack!" As in "Ack, why am I cramping!" and "Ack, what kind of 5k plan is this!" and "Ack! I don't want to go to the doctor because all he can do is give me a muscle relaxant and I don't like the idea of taking one of those!"

So to make a long story short (or shorter) on Thursday I started have period cramping which is unusual for me. I worked out on Friday, but it got progressively worse until today, which I still managed to work out. But it is still getting worse since working out. It is my entire back all the way up to my shoulder blades, and my entire front all the way up to my boobs (but I have a high waist, so it's up to my ribs).

It's worse at night, and it is making it hard to sleep. Midol doesn't work, Advil doesn't work, Tylenol doesn't work. Only heating pads, one on my back and one on my stomach help. At night, I can barely walk, let alone keep a straight face if I am not on my heating pads...and it keeps getting worse. I have never had period cramps like this. Especially since I started yesterday!

I can't do anything really, and my stomach is constantly making funny noises. I went ahead and decided I was going to do my C25k app today because, firstly, it's really important to me, secondly, I was hoping it would make the pain go away. And it did while I was exercising. The minute I got into my car the pain started to come back and it is slowly getting worse as I type this. Which means I am going to have to call the doctor, but which one? My gyno or my regular physician?

I don't know if I would be able to get into my gyno, and to be honest they are just going to give some pain pills probably. But something might be wrong, because seriously this never happens to me! And when it does, it's never constant and continuing.

My C25k program is really throwing me for a loop this week, which I will have to repeat next week despite the cramps. It bumped my 1:30 run to 3 minutes, and my 3 min run to 5 minutes. It lowered my 2 min walk to 1:30 and my 3 minute walk to 2 minutes. So I didn't do well today, and I will probably only complete it if I do this week twice. Oh well.

Well, in all honesty, I am going to take a bath now because I haven't taken a shower in a while and I am starting to get to be in pain again.

Keep up the Spark!

OUCH! I feel your pain; however, if there are any concessions, I might add that you look so amazing! I have to keep visiting your site because 140 lbs look very good!!! What an amazing difference from 170. That is where I used to be when you were there also. Yet, I am there; umm, well...I'm a bit up from that but not quite the next point. Take care and have that checked out by your OBGYN.

You need to make an appointment with your OBGYN because it sounds like you have a ruptured cyst. They can be very painful but can also get infected. Need to get that checked out.

I had one the size of a grapefruit rupture when I was 17, went to the Doctor and that's when they told me I would never have children because I waited so long and scarred my ovary. Good thing Doctors aren't always right ;) That was the day I was diagnosed with PCOS. I withstood the pain for three months before I ended up in the emergency room. On and off pain...mostly during cycle.
