S.A.D.

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

I think I suffer from S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder). Even though I've been getting enough sleep, I am soooo tired! I try to get outside everyday and take my Vitamin D religiously, it still get's to me. Grrrr and it will be this way until mid February!

OK Debby, think sunshine! emoticon

Are you under any unusual stress ? Excess stress can cause people to feel tired even when they get a good night's sleep. when I need a pick me up, a like taking a walk around the neighborhood. nothing like a blast of cool winter air to wake a person up. teehee...

PS - The Daily Spark had a great article on beating the winter blues.

Yeah, can't wait for the season to turn again....just in a few short days the days will start to get longer again, and before we know it, Spring will be here and all that light! In the meantime, maybe a trip to the tropics would do your spirit good, if not that, then the light box might be just the thing!

This time of year is always so hard and here especially when it seems to get cloudy and socked in due to the weather and the snowy type clouds etc :( I so love a great sunshiny winter day. Sorry you are struggling and I agree that it seems to affect until end of February or something. Sending positive thoughts of sunshine your way.

Let me know if you and your family would like to visit me and my family in Houston for a week or two. These past few days have been filled with warmth and sunshine.

I have a light I use and this has been the BEST year I've had with S.A.D. It almost feels like it has disappeared. It wasn't something I could shake off.

emoticon Debbie, it is very difficult to keep perspective when the gloom is not some physical thing that we can sweep away. It is awesome that you have been able to identify it. Knowing truly is half the battle.

I think I do too Debby. This year has been better for me than the past years but I really have to focus on not letting winter/darkness getting me down. Instead of thinking it will be this way until mid February though, think about the fact that starting Sat, the daylight gets longer each day!
