I have been absent for some time but that's going to change. In my absence, I have continued to run and did my first 10K at Thanksgiving. I finished it in just over a hour and I was so proud of myself. I was motivated to keep moving but due to the weather and time change, I don't really have any daylight hours when I don't have the kids to run. It's been frustrating. Because of it, I haven't run since the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I haven't hit the gym either :(
I am disappointed in myself so I am going to do something about it... unfortunately my schedule doesn't allow for me to get to the gym until Wednesday, I think. So that's when I am planning to go.
I think I've figured out the difference between working out after D and after M. It's the rowing machine. I hit that thing for 30 minutes 2-3 times a week after D's birth (in WI). Our gym (in CA) does not have a rowing machine so I haven't done it after M's birth like I did after D's birth. I truly think that's why I haven't slimmed down as quick... the rowing machine is more than a cardio machine, it engages the abs and back muscles and that is where I am seeing the lack of progress. I am going to request the gym add a rowing machine and will keep my eyes out for one on Craigslist. They are expensive but so worth it. In the meantime, I think I am going to hit the cardio in crazy amounts.
