I had one of those moments yesterday. I realized I was planning on attending a conference in Hawaii in June and I want to be able to wear a bathing suit. Oh man! Okay, this means some serious goal setting. First, I want to be Healthy enough to enjoy the conference; that's a given. I need to have enough Energy to do the conference as well as the family time. Did I mention that I have a teenager who turns 18 on the first day of the conference and will have graduated from High School the week before? This is his trip as much as it is mine. So to do this, I need to:
1. lose 30 pounds between now and June. That's about 1 pound a week between now and then. It's going to be hard work but it seems doable to me.
2. learn to sleep better. I'm having lots of issues with my sleep. Some of it is HOT FLASHES, the scourge of ladies of a certain age. Some of it is this college application process. That at least will be over soon.
3. save money and airline points so that I can afford to bring the family with me - even if it means we fly on different airlines. By that time, all three of us will be adults - well at least pass for adults. As long as we arrive at the same place.
I think three goals is enough for now. I might think of others and I will post them but for now that's enough.
Next step - find something that I can divide into 30 little pieces and keep track of the weight loss.
