This is a picture of my Dad enjoying his breakfast at Torrey Pines Pub in Las vegas, Nevada. This Pub used to be in Missoula, Montana (where I live). University of Montana Alums get together there to watch the Grizzlies kick butt. Doesn't my dad look great?

I am so proud of him! He was diagnosed with diabetes when I was in grade school. I remember him opening his giant sized chocolate bars on Father's day and Christmas. Funny.........everything else these days is so super sized. Do they even make those huge bars of chocolate anymore or was it just gluttony of such obvious proportions that they had to stop?

Anyway........Dad ate oatmeal every morning since his diagnosis and walks every day as well. He has maintained a struggle with his weight his adult life and has finally been able to call himself a success story! He is maintaining a weight loss of 80 plus pounds and getting regular reports of an A1C under 6!

He is in his 70's and still walks every day. He gets a big trophy for consistency! He also gets my vote for inspiring person. Way to go, Dad! I am soooo proud of you!
