A New Beginning

Saturday, December 15, 2012

At 43 years old, a new beginning? Well, that's exactly where I am, in 2012 . . . a new beginning.. I've started a new way of living this past August. No more excuses for why I'm making poor choices. I'm so excited about the changes I've been making for myself and my family, well at least my children (haven't got my husband on board. . .yet emoticon ). It all started with a "biggest loser challenge" at work. So, on August 15, tracking everything became a way of life. A few days after starting the challenge at work, a co-worker told me about Spark People, and I've been hooked ever since.

Who new I could make these changes stick and feel good about them, not like I was on a diet, like the many times before. I've been struggling with weight-loss since I was about 19 or 20 years old. I'm so thrilled to say, No more!! I've lost 42 lbs since August 15, and will keep on losing! My girls are also making these changes with me and we are all seeing some big results and feeling great about them! We've decided we would like to work toward a 5K. Woohoo!!

Fitness, well that is another story. We have good intentions, but don't always see them through! We go to the gym sporadically. . . a new beginning. . . WE WILL see fitness as a priority!! My goal for this week, is to schedule my workout, as if it is an appointment, and keep it!! I've read many articles on this site and that was one of the tips. Great idea!

I love this new beginning! I love the new found energy! I love that these changes feel like they are becoming a part of who I am! Woohoo! I love that the Lord gives me strength each day to continue n this journey (WOOHOO!!).

Stay positive, persevere and you will be able to do it.
Take care. Good luck on meeting your goals and hopefully getting your husband on board. emoticon
