This will be short, but I just have to write it! I was really hesitant about having my check weigh in today. I went out to dinner last night (unexpectedly) and was really worried about what the scale would show this morning. We went to a Thai restaurant, which was actually quite good! I got the spicy basil curry, which consisted of this sauce (which wasn't soy!) with grilled peppers, green beans, onions, and some pieces of chicken mixed in. That was it, essentially veggies for dinner! The chicken was cut in such a way that chop sticks made it difficult to pick up the pieces (I refused to use a fork or spoon since I would have ate all the chicken!). So overall, it was a good dinner. But I was worried since I always bloat due to the amount of salt that restaurants use, causing the scale to give an erroneous number this morning. Yet the food was spicy (go figure), and I think I drank a gallon of water while eating that dish, so I was hoping that the water would counteract any amount of bloating that may occur. I think that's the key - when you go out to eat, get something spicy so you'll drink a crap ton of water! But the scale was down this morning! The lowest number I've EVER seen on the scale (in the beginning of November, the scale at one point at read 144.2 or something). I'm so glad! Since the beginning of November, I've been "maintaining" at around 145-149, so I'm finally glad to see it drop again! I can't wait to update my tracker on Wednesday!
But minor problem - my reward for being less than 145 was to open up new teas that I got. Well, I've met the goal, but it isn't "official" until Wednesday. The only problem is, I'm almost out of tea, so I need to open up a new box! Maybe I'll open up one when I run out (if it happens before Wednesday) and save the other box until Wednesday.
In other news (I am procrastinating since I don't want to study!! I do have to get ready for house hunting today though! I have to leave in an hour!), my run this morning sucked. My legs are just SO sore! I increased my speed on Monday from 6.3 to 6.4 mph and on Monday and Thursday, I was only able to get in a 21-22 minute run (I was running late! ..no pun intended). Saturdays are always my long 5-6 mile run, but my legs just hurt! I noticed the stiffness around the 15 minute mark, but I kept pushing and got to 31 minutes. It was only 3.3 miles though, I am bummed about that since I didn't even get to 40 minutes, but my legs were going "no, I'm going to stop now" so they did. I stretched beforehand and did yoga for runners afterwards. I hope that helps a lot since I really want to get in that 5-6 mile run! I suppose it'll have to wait until next Saturday. Hopefully a few more quick 20-30 minute runs throughout the week at this speed will help. The difference between a 9:31 and a 9:22 minute mile is incredible!
