I feel terribly sorry for the families in Connecticut . I heard about it on the local radio this morning. I am having trouble putting alot of my feelings down right now both as a father and as a human being, I know from personal experience that gun control is NOT the panacea some politicians might think it is. A lot of people I know are still contending with the stupid long gun registry that was rammed down our throats in the early 1990s. And you know what - things don't miraculously get better- the bad guys can still get guns. And the good guys get a opportunity to become criminalized .

Yes I can recall years ago how Reagan sent out the mental patients from the hospitals. Pitiful.

No amount of school security seems to be enough either. Seems that STILL no one really believes it could happen at their school.

I totally agree about gun control. The guns are not the problem. It's the people who are using them. These people are mentally ill and for years our method of dealing with mentally ill people is to give them some pills and ignore them. This method does not work and never will.
