Day 61

Friday, December 14, 2012

After yesterdays events, I am still pretty tired and weak, but made the best of today that I could.

First thing, so nobody worries, no I didn't go to the gym today to work out. I was in no shape to even think about it, I still am not feeling all that well. However, WE got out of the house to do a little shopping today and got in about 4 total miles of walking. By the time we got home, I was completely wiped out and I haven't moved much. I have an assembly this weekend, so hopefully I feel a little better tomorrow.

Second, for all those who shared their loving concern, I actually emailed my doctor yesterday afternoon and within a couple of hours, she called me. We discussed what ahppened. She wanted to go to the ER, but it was 6 or so in the evening, and there is no way I am taking a 5 & 10 year old to sit for untold numbers of hours in an ER. My doctor called me again this afternoon to check on me, and we discussed where I am. I have an appt to go see her next tuesday and to get some labwork done. I did promise her that if things worsen I will go to the ER immediately. As long as it has been since the incident, there is really nothing they can do at this point unless things get worse.

Third, tonight we decided to be bad and have a pizza delivered. It tasted nothing like I remembered! It was actually pretty gross, my wifey's homemade pizza is MUCH MUCH better, so I will stick with it. Right now, I feel extremely bloated and icky from the pizza. We also shared our first soda in two months, the sugar high is even ickier! At least I got that out of my system, and I know I don't miss it or want it again. Even with being bad, I am still within my calorie range, but I don't want to do that again.

Have a good night!! HUGZ

Praying that you heal quickly and get to the root of the issue. Hang in there, and try not to overdo it.

Your experience with pizza delivery is exactly how I felt last night. Hubby and I went to a movie for date night, and then I decided to splurge and eat fast food. I haven't eaten burgers from fast food joints for 22's a bad habit I'm trying to break. I ended up getting the McRib. It was tasteless. All I could taste were the onions, which were too sharp for me (I like to carmelize them a bit). As someone who used to enjoy a good McRib every now and then, I was horribly disappointed. I guess my taste buds are adjusting to real food now. All I have to show for it are too much sodium and fat grams and a tummyache.

I'm very happy that you are seeing your doctor on Tuesday. I hope your energy continues to improve over the weekend, but don't push yourself.

As I told Tami, I had a similar experience with a Big Mac, I use to love them and crave them like crazy. I had one as a treat about a month ago and couldn't even finish it, it was gross. I love how our taste buds adapt and adjust as we improve our eating habits. Keep it up, you guys are doing AWESOME!

    Keeping you in my prayers.

SO relieved to hear that you at least talked to your Dr. Still think you should have gone for check up..even at a minute clinic to find out what is going on! Please, please, please take it easy at the assembly this weekend. I agree that taking kids to the ER is no picnic (surely a Br. or Sis in the cong. would have helped or babysat if you called..I would if I didn't live clear across the continent!) but better to take them to ER than have your family taking them to a funeral home later. Your body has sent you a warning...heed it!! Please keep us posted. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers. May Jehovah hold you close. Be wise.
