So I quit my gym....

Friday, December 14, 2012

Before any of my friends out there freak out, I'm SO EXCITED. Quitting my gym was an amazing decision.

Why did you make this fitness foo-pah you may ask?

I joined a new gym.

A week ago I'd gotten it in mind that I need a workout buddy. The only girl I know who needs a workout friend, sadly, can't afford the gym I was a member of. After much deliberaton - which didn't last long when I saw the $35/month savings between the gym memberships, I told her if she SWORE to me to stick to a partner workout plan, that I'd join her gym.

My first impressions were 'ok it's small, but it's nice.' Each machine has a television, so I'm not stuck watching news or sports when I work out best to crime tv (think of Law and Order. Best workout ever.) It was super quiet when I was there, which was fine with me. I don't like working out with a ton of people around, it makes me self-concious.

The gym tour was your typical's the locker room, here's the girl's section, group classes...etc...blah blah blah oh and let me introduce you to your free trainer.

Free trainer?

FREE trainer? Like....personal trainer???

Did I mention that your trainer will also be your new nutrition coach? Why yes, we require you email your daily food log so that we can make sure you're not undoing all of our hard work and efforts, then wondering why you have no results.

Personal trainer...nutrition coaching...amazing new gym...workout buddy 3x/week....

Oh, and here's the sign up for our biggest loser competition. Weekly weigh-ins, daily group workout sessions available, additional nutritional coaching, and team moral support.

I'm so excited I can hardly think! I've been in my gym every day since and I'm SO EXCITED!

Sounds AWESOME!!! I'm going to be looking for a new gym come February and I hope to have the same perks that you have! I'm thinking about the Y (since my job will offer discounts there) and they have nutritionists and trainers. It's just how the other offers compare to the Y (I won't know until I have my orientation!).

Good luck with your new gym, personal trainer, and routine! You can do it!!
