Well.... I took a planned day off after my half, and I started feeling pretty sick... got a fever, all that good stuff. I took the next morning off to go to the doctor, and he told me I had the flu and not to go back to work all week. Which would have been nice if I hadn't been so miserable! I haven't had the flu in years, but I guess my body was kinda worn out from all that running, so the defense department was slacking.
So... I haven't exercised all week, either, obviously, and that makes me sad, but if I can barely even take the trash out, then there's no way I can exercise. So maybe I'll try to double up on some exercise days to still get my 31 in December.
Leading up to my half was all Phase 1 of my weight loss. I wanted to make 189, but I really slacked off in the eating department and gained a little back after getting down to 197ish. Well, I just now weighed and it said 196.7. So... whatever. I'll take it. I guess between the half and the flu, I'm back down? Anyway... I'm going to get back into things for REAL.
See, in February, I'm planning to go to this giant music teacher's convention and a lot of my college friends will be there, so I need to lose a little more before then! It's about 2 months from now, and I think I can lose 8-12 more pounds by then. And I keep looking at all these success stories and goal weight pictures, and I keep looking at my own goals posted on my bulletin board and I WANT to finish this! I want to wear medium shirts and be able to wear stuff from Victoria's Secret and look good in a swimsuit! I've got to finish this!!! Also, I told my lady doctor that I was going to lose weight and run a half. I've run the half, so now I have to finish losing weight before i see her again in the summer! :)
So here's the new plan so far. I'm going to start on Monday with Coach Nicole's Total Body Sculpting. There are three week long workout plans, and I'll do each one twice, so that will get me almost through January. On the cross training days, I'll do Zumba and at least one run a week. And I just found a 10k in Longview on February 2.... so that might be my next race!
So I guess the plan for the spring is to (literally) race my butt off. :) My friends host a 5k in March, there's a couple good ones in the area in April, then the 10k in May. I better start saving up. :)
I'm REALLY going to do this!
