The eternal optimist

Starting tomorrow, I've got 19 days off work.

Wowee! How on earth will I fill the time, I thought to myself.

Hollow laugh.

I want to spring clean my flat, dig the garden (a month-long task in itself, even if it weren't the middle of winter and boggy out there), repaint a couple of rooms, CLEAR OUT all my cupboards, get rid of some stuff, make a skirt, knit two woolly hats, watch all my Allo Allo DVDs and get my mindset ready for a great 2013.

And the rest . . . I've promised myself a visit to the gym or two hours' walking every day. Except Sunday which I'll spend mostly on a train to Cornwall, so I'll have to make it up on Monday. Apart from Christmas eve and Christmas day I'm going to stay on track. I'm going to remember to take my blood pressure tablets (onnist!) and . . .

I AM GOING TO DRINK TWO LITRES OF WATER A DAY! FOR 19 DAYS!!!

In the nearly six months I've been on SP, I've managed to drink two litres of water about four times. Today I've had one cup of tea, one cup of coffee and one cup of water. My flat is permanently littered with half drunk drinks. You could call me an optimist, because my glass is always half full. Curse it.

Despite this last, I am determined to catch up on lots of sleep. So I'm thinking catheter, gazunder . . . I certainly aint getting up in the middle of the night, not while the weather's this cold.

A frozen asset is the last thing I want.

I think that you are doing great just to have a plan of action for your long break! Keep pushing and know that each day will have it's challenges but as long as you keep moving somewhat in the direction of your goals you will stay on your path.

Merry Christmas and have a sparky break!!!!

I'm off Wednesday at noon until Jan. 3 and will join you in chores that will clean, clear, and make me happy and productive! I will not be able to match you with a 2 hour walk every day but will smile every time I exercise and say thanks to Chantal for spurring everyone on!

Merry Christmas ahead of time! Thanks for spreading joy!

I always love your blogs. Today's the first day of my semester break. School starts back January 7th. I like your list of things to do. I also want to clean. I plan to try clothes on and sort into too big (off to Goodwill), wearable now, and need to try again later groups. My big project will be to rearrange the bedroom that the computer is in - my plans entail moving 2 overflowing bookcases, my desk, tv and nearly everything else in the room. To actually do this I'll have to get rid of other things cluttering up the room. Oh and I also want to go see multiple movies and read a bunch. Not too much as all. emoticon

Great goal........get those fluids up. I have a harder time in the winter as I enjoy the water more when it is hot. Have you tried hot water and lemon?
Enjoy your holiday. Way to go with all that time off!

Having a designated water bottle really does help. I have one at work and that's where I drink the most water. Also, adding fresh lemons or limes makes it a litle to down if you aren't that inot water.
