I lost 2 pounds during the past week so I felt I deserved a reward. When I got back from errands in the early afternoon I still had not had my exercise for the day. So I walked to the thrift shop near my house. I gave myself a budget of $10 to spend on anything--clothing, housewares, whatever.
Naturally I started looking at clothes first. I actually enjoy trying on clothes now to discover what size I am. My size 18 skinny jeans are getting loose and will need a belt next time I wear them. So I'm trying to buy clothes that are on the tight side, knowing they will be loose soon.
I found four tops that I liked and had to choose just three of them. I was going to discard the low-cut purple blouse because it seemed too sexy but the clerk talked me into keeping it. "Wear it for you, girl!" was her comment. So I put back the sensible, long sleeved purple top that was a bit loose [it would soon be too large anyway]. I also bought a knit tank top in pink that I can wear under the sexy purple blouse if I want to be modest. A denim vest from LL Bean rounded out my finds.
I walked home with my discoveries for a total of 20 minutes walking. A new neighbor who was putting his trashcan in from the street hesitated in his driveway until I got up to him just so he could speak to me. That felt good!
