Ok, so I started something new yesterday. I started the 30 day shred program of JIllian Michaels because 1) I want to get stronger and 2) I need something I can do when I cannot go outside because of ice and snow or when I don't have time. In comes Jillian Michaels. Despite her reputation of being a bully, I decided that this would be right for me given the short intense workouts and the rave reviews about the results. I started on level 1 and modified some of the exercises (push ups on my toes? no way in hell that i can do that). the workout flew by and I felt really challenged. Towards the end a muscle in one of my leg cramped up, I don't know why, so the last segment ( it's three 6 minute segments per workout plus warming up and cooling down) I skipped everything that hurt.
Man, am I sore today hahaha! You are supposed to do this workout everyday for 10 days (or when you feel ready) and then move up to the next level. I don't believe in doing intense exercise every day. Muscles need rest, especially if they are sore. So today I just walked around a little bit (I don't believe in sitting on the couch either). Tomorrow I will have another try at it. I am hoping the last of the snow will disappear because I really would like to go outside and bike.
