Good morning! Decorating has begun. yesterday i went to phyllis's little kitchen store (a true jewel of a store in any town but a MIRACLE in a town as small as Walkerton) www.newkitchenstore.com is her web address if you want to take a look. anyway--we had a very nice visit over some vanilla rooibos tea (yum) and i came home with a lovely cardinal platter, a divided server and a pair of candle holders. so i now have my theme set for the living room. and i supported a very worthy local business and had a fine afternoon with a friend. WIN.
dredged all the Christmas paraphanalia up from the basement and did something we haven't done in at least 15 years--we trimmed our tree. normally we put it up with lights, but because of the dogs we don't put ornaments on it. but now we have a small tree that sits up on a blanket chest in the bedroom, and i put up a mini tree in the bathroom on the counter. since both trees are out of dog range we got out our old ornaments and hung them up. the bedroom tree got my collection of hobby horses, and the bathroom tree got all the little dogs and cats and critters. still need to do a small tree with trains on it for the office.
and yesterday was remarkable in the fact that i got EVERYTHING i had on my morning list done! couldn't believe it--made yogurt, made phone calls, started decorating, went to see phyllis, relocated the kittens back outside--everything! hope today goes just as well. i have shopping to do again, but this time i have a list and a firmer mental picture of what i am looking for.
everything is starting to shape up.
have a great day, everybody!
