Too Many, Too Much?

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

This morning, I got to ask myself this question after a dear friend responded to my last post about gadgets. My response to the question of having too many gadgets was:
".......In respect of gadgets, as far as my healthy lifestyle is concerned, I don't believe I can have too many. The success I have achieved so far on this journey have been majorly because of the gadgets at my disposal. My phone Apps, Pedometer, and iPad are so indispensable to me!!!! People spend huge sums of money buying clothes, make-up, cars, and other stuff. My priority is ME and my health is Number 1. What do you think?"
After the response, I started pondering. My wish list for Christmas were all gadgets or exercise related stuff like walking/ running shoes, active wears, and a Mini iPad. These are all things targeted towards my continued healthy living in 2013. It now occurred to me that if I win a lottery today, my first thought would be exercise related. That is a good thing right?
This time last year, I was busy stocking my house with ridiculously (at least now I consider them to be) fattening foods and drinks towards Christmas. Today, I am consciously picking healthy foods, not just for me but my family too. What a way to have come in a year.
My summary on this is, you can't invest too much in or have too many gadgets on this journey. This is a lifestyle change and everything and anything that can support should be accessed, as long as you can afford it and it pleases you!
My prayer this morning is, "Dear Lord, you know I have been Nice this year; taking extra good of your Temple. Please Father, send me Christmas gifts that I desire. The ones that would help me better take care of this beautiful gift that You have given me to care for. Top on my list is an iPad Mini and a Size 11W Adidas Vigor 3 TR Shoes. I also wouldn't mind a Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale. These are in addition to that special request that you are already working on. Thanks so much Father. From your loving daughter Femi".
So how is that for a Christmas request?!!!!
Thanks for reading this.
Peace and Love!!!
Remain blessed!!!!

I think your gadgets are helping you very well. The improvement in your health is very obvious. I find my wish list is mainly fitness related this year, also. Keep up the great job!

I love all my gadgets, and much of my Christmas list is fitness oriented; or at least a result of getting fit. I think for a lot of people it is the gadgets that motivate them to keep going.

Thanks for the response. On contrary, she was being supportive. She was just wondering about the different things we use and how people might not understand why? Even people on this journey might not be as understanding as others. I say it is a case of different strokes for different folks!!!!!

I think your friend was speaking of herself. As far as you are concerned, you should use whatever you can to get health where you want it to be. If I was you I would not use the word gadgets because that is such a negative word. Try using equipment it is the correct word for what you are doing. I hope you get what you need for Christmas.
