Some times not getting out of the house is good. I did not get up and dressed in time to go visit a friend at Clacamas town center before I saw it on the news.Clackamas town xenter mall closed. finaly found out that Three dead including the guy with the gun. Who went from one end to the other shooting.

Have not gotten a hold of the lady I was going to see.

So I had to cook. a big pot of soup consisting of Celery, onion, squash, soy curls, tvp, garlic, chicken broth I got for $2 with a good date, whole wheat 1/2 chicken brest , parsley, sage
May be that will calm my nerves. Or I could go get some wine. 4oz Big drinker

Wow, I remember that. It was a scary time! I hope your friend is fine, well, I'm sure you would know by now. You've got to take care of yourself. Making healthy soup sounds like a really good way. Good for you!!!

Getting out sometimes can be dangerous but got to get out anyway. I have been struggling myself so been out of touch for part of the time. I felt for my neighboring state in horror of what happened. It is sad and scary.

Mental illness is a huge unaddressed need in this country. Laws against evil doers, and laws against law abiding citizens, is not going to address the problem. In all of the discussions and broadcasts, I have yet to hear a single newsperson or other person, address the subject of mental illness.

Your soup sounds really good! Soup is one of my fav healthy things. Do you have a Dollar Tree dollar store in your area? Everything at Dollar Tree is only a dollar. Including all-natural chicken broth in the quart containers. 28oz cans of tomato products. And many more. I find alot of good buys there. There is name brand as well as generic there; for the name brand they now take coupons. I got Crest toothpaste for 50 cents the other day.

Also if there is an ALDIs in your area, mark your calendar for Dec 26th. Anytime there is a major holiday they are closed for, the following day that they are open they have huge markdowns on fresh meat. The smallest discount is $3 and $4 off a package. I just made BBQ beef with ribs that were $4 off per package. I have seen pennies on the dollar, half off pkg of boneless chicken breasts, $8 off steak, a whole pkg of ground chicken for 50 cents, a whole pkg of Jennie-O lean turkey sausage for 25 cents, etc. Make room in your freezer before Dec 26th, then go that morning. My ALDIs has eggs for $1.15 a dozen, currently. Not a sale. Regular price. A couple times of year they have things with good dates they want to get rid of. I still have canned tomatoes 25 cents, canned chili 25 cents, bottled spaghetti sauce 67 cents, bags of split peas 25 cents, etc.

O M G! Just heard about the shooting this morning.......WTH IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?

I'm looking for work so getting out is vital to my sanity (I am SOOOOO NOT the "housewife type"), even though I'm a bit of an introvert and depressed over the whole damned thing - but this tragedy certainly puts things in quite a different perspective, at least for the moment.....

That soup sounds a lot more tasty (and healthful) than the wine (I stopped drinking many years ago and am SO much the better for it!) - hope you go for the former! I also hope you get in touch with your friend!

Soups good, the drink is not. You are strong enough to go without it. I trust you will hear soon from your friend.
