Move it to Lose it!

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

I think, I think I'm finally getting a spark. I've been kind of going through the motions of visiting the Spark People site everyday and following a sensible diet. I still fall off now and again, but the difference is I don't beat myself up for doing it or give in. I just pick myself back up and keep going. Also, although exercising still hurts I'm starting to look forward to it. I'm still doing baby steps, but I'm moving. I also found out that if I stretch when it starts to hurt, I can move on a little further. I'm up to 30 minutes of day of walking, two or three day of stretching or yoga and two to three days of strength training with dumbells or stretch bands. For now, I think I'll make my new mantra, "I gotta move to lose it." Now what used to feel like just going through the motions is starting to take on real meaning. Yep, I've been sparked! I just have to keep on moving.

Great job and I love your positive attitude. The more baby steps you take the closer you'll get to your goal. Keep stepping

Great first blog, congratulations of catching the spark and making a plan for your fitness!

It's not too late to join in on our Holiday Move It To Lose It Cross-Country team challenge -- there's no requirement to do any certain amount of activity, you're not competing with anyone else to do the "most," it's just a fun plan to post your fitness minutes to help move the team on a journey across the country and celebrate our combined success on New Year's Eve ! Every participant will get a celebratory Spark Goodie at the end, and others are sent for various other accomplishments. You can read more about it at the link below, but basically all you need do is post your minutes and what activity you were doing in the top thread in the fitness forum on the team page, and you'll get credit for 1 (virtual) mile for every 5 minutes of exercise.

Whether you choose to join the challenge or not -- keep up the good work!
