Whining?

I hate to vent and to sound negative, but that's how I'm feeling. I've wanted to make this blog positive and document all my progress, but I'm having the opposite experience lately. I haven't even wanted to weigh myself because I know I've been inconsistent with my healthy lifestyle (to say the least)! Lots of parties with unhealthy food, alcohol, lack of exercise and a lot of lazing around. Sometimes I justify it by saying that I've been so busy and stressed that I need a little fun and oblivion, but that doesn't mean all the time!

So, this morning I put my big girl pants on and stood on the scale. There was a FIVE POUND GAIN, but I took a deep breath and updated my weight on my SparkPage. Sigh. Just going to start fresh and keep going. It's a work in progress and I have to be truthful with my blog and document to myself the bad times, not just the good.

    It's ok to have a whiny day now and then. Just use the emotions to fuel progress when you're ready! emoticon

I find it's actually easier to turn it around and get moving in the right direction again when we face up to exactly what direction we had been going. When we instead brush it "under the rug", it seems easier to just keep being less than up-front with ourselves and easier to keep being inconsistent.

    We all have had weeks like that. I know I have. Tomorrow is a brand new day with a new beginning. The good news is when we blow it, we can begin again. I wish you well.
