Well, I think I surved our annual pizza party!
Each year, my boss throws a party and as always we have pizza! The day started when another secretary brought in homebaked cookies. Nope, I did not have one. I was saving myself for pizza.
The moment came and for starters, I filled my plate with a green salad. After salad I had 2, yes 2 slices of Brooklyn style pizza ... OMG!
Then it was time for our annual White Elephant. Me, I like to bring things in that have a theme with the pizza party. Since I like to crochet and I have a ton of yarn, I decided to crochet my white elephant this year ....
The winner of this pizza scarf* was very excited that no one took it away! btw, that's not the winner in the pix, that's me The Crochet Deacon posing with the Pepperoni Pizza.
*This was kind of a combo pattern. Originally I had planned to crochet a pizza pie, but that didn't work out so well. Then I saw a scarf pattern for sale on ravely dot com by Twinkie (I think her last name is Chan) - anywhoo, I wasn't in the mood to buy a pattern, so I printed off one of the free patterns. One was a slice of pizza, so I took that pattern and kept crocheting until it was the length of a scarf.
After the white elephant, it was cake time .... I requested a small slice. Then I indulged in 1 cookie. Remember the homebaked cookies that were brought in earlier.
I don't feel guilty. I am determined to enjoy the moments in this day. I kept my bottle of water with me the entire time.
Oh, what did I get from the White Elephant? Well I was blessed to get what I gave last year ....
I'll just save it for next year's white elephant exchange!
