Hey, thanks for all the encouragement, buddies!!
And HI, obviously it's Tuesday, but I am updating about yesterday which was Monday.
I'm still doing pretty well. Yesterday was a workout day. I did upper body ST and some walking on the treadmill.
Which apparently I am NOT supposed to. I went to My First Ever physical therapy yesterday. It was fine. It was kind of funny, I was asking about what kinds of cardio I can do, to not make my hip worse while we work on making it better. No running (duh), walking for long periods of time is not good, anything that doesn't feel right or hurts (so the elliptical is out! feels weird, like my legs are vastly different lengths, since the hip thing)... basically he did not love any of my options. Some better than others but he had something cautiony to say about everything. Swimming is great (yay!) but also do something on land because "we're not fish."
He's funny. And super nice, don't get me wrong.
He kept saying that he's not used to advising people on what to do for cardio, because "most of the people who can do that kind of stuff don't come to see me." Which made me ALMOST feel like... am I not supposed to be here?? But I think it's better to fix it now before it's a serious injury that interrupts my daily activities, rather than wait until it's really bad. I think he thinks so too, was probably just trying to keep me from pushing too hard at the gym and hurting myself more.
Also no one told me that PT would involve a cute guy putting electrodes down my pants. So there's that. For the record I did wear cuter underpants today in honor of that.
Anyway. Moving on from Things I Will Probably Be Embarrassed I Put On The Internet When I Think About It Later...
I did my big grocery shopping last night, which is good. So I'm ready with healthy foods for the week. The problem was when I got home and tried to pick up all the bags to carry them up to the 3rd floor. My arms said
"Uh... hi. Remember all those weights you made us lift this morning? Yeah, we don't like that. We're done."
"Oh, come on, it's just a few things. Just up the stairs?"
"Nope. Not gonna."
Okay I COULD HAVE made 2 trips but 1) hungry! and 2) don't wanna! Mr. Turtle helped me. Because he is the best.
I guess I finally told him about Kick August this weekend... I had calories left for a giant pepperidge farm cookie last night. It was super good. But of course that kind of made me want ANOTHER one... I was rationalizing "well, I can CHOOSE to go over my calorie range if I WANT to..." The husby was cute, he was like "Don't do it!!! You have to kick August's butt!!!"
Not in an annoying, depressing, "telling me what to do" kind of way, just in a cute funny, made me laugh and not eat an extra cookie after all kind of way.
So check me out:

I met everything except my "stretch"goals for protein and fiber, but considering I got home late and didn't feel like cooking and let myself get super hungry, I think I did pretty well!
I didn't torch a ton of calories, but I know ST is good for me so I'm okay with that.
I'm not counting PT as fitness, but in that sense I did get in some extra ST yesterday AND today. Woooo!
I had to stand on the bad leg on a squishy thing. It was super easy for about 10 seconds and I was going "this is dumb..." by the end of my 3rd 30-second bit I was going OWWWW. Also something called "clams" which I just tried to describe but it ends up sounding really dirty so I erased it. It's an excercise, and ouchy one. PT guy: "how are you doing?" Me: "I FEEL THE BURN." him: "haha"
I was too lazy to make my chicken salad last night, and I'm out and about today so my challenge will be to find a healthy lunch.
Tomorrow my challenge will be to balance my desire to Torch Mad Calories with being gentle on my hip.
The nice part is I am looking at it as totally having an excuse to join the fancypants gym with the pool. I have to SWIM. DOCTOR'S ORDERS!! Not really, but let's pretend.
Oh, and if it matters, I officially reached 40 pounds lost today.
(Sorry I accidentally gave myself that trophy last week; I misunderstood how the trophies work. I thought if I chose one, SP would "give" it to me when my weight tracker reflected that much lost. WHOOPS/DERP. Now it's official.)
In 1.5 pounds I'll have broken through the neverending plateau I could never break on Weight Watchers. 1/3 of the way to my initial goal of 180. Past my goal of 262 in December/around Christmas.
I wrote in my planner months ago (I'm SO GLAD I DID THIS BY THE WAY. If you don't do this, go do it) "anywhere between 268 and 253 this week = on track." I counted ahead and figured out what I would weigh the week of Christmas if I lost my slowest (~0.5lbss/week plus not losing anything on vacation or the week of Thanksgiving) and my fastest (2lbs/week). There's no being disappointed that I'm not in the 240s because even if I'd lost as fast as possible since summer I wouldn't even be there! It's good perspective for those "yay progress! But I want MORE, BETTER, EXPONENTIALLY IMPRESSIVE progress!" moments. Keeps me in check. So I'm RIGHT in the middle of that range, which is perfect and happy, and I may even be 259 or 258 for Christmas which would be lovely.
Basically I'm having good times; off to read about what you all are up to. Smoochies!
