Sugar..followup to previous blog

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

From the article in my previous blog I got this useful information:

"If you eat sugar with some protein, some fat, or some fiber, your body won’t produce as much insulin. Eating this other food helps your body process sugar more slowly, and this means that your body does not overproduce insulin. In short, protein, fat, and fiber help your body process sugar in a more healthful way. "

So..eating whole fruit has fiber and slows the insulin production.

I guess I'd better stop eating the 6 cookies at a time that I have been doing!

I have heard that your immune system is worse for at least 4 hours after sugar consumption. I know that at work, I'm one of the oldest and one of the "wellest" and never call in sick.... :)
