After only 2 days of doing the Upper/Lower split, I can already tell I like this a lot better.
Yesterday was Upper Body day. The reps were low, so I went heavy! I spent over an hour at the gym last night and got in chest, shoulders, back, biceps, triceps, abs, and obliques. DOMS hasn't set in yet, so I'm feeling good today. I did the elliptical for my cardio, and man, I forgot how much my quads BURRRN on that thing.
Pre-prepped meal worked out famously last night. I had everyone fed, dishes done, dogs taken care of by 6pm! Tonight is jambalaya night, and everything is prepped and ready to throw into the pot.
I'm starting to get nervous for Friday. My coworker is making such a big deal about the Holiday Party she's organizing. She wants everyone to bring a $20 gift for the Christmas Exchange, bring a dish for potluck lunch, then stay afterward for a dinner at a fancy restaurant. It's putting a lot of stress on me! I think for the gift I'll get a Starbucks giftcard. I signed up to bring my homemade bread for potluck. I was planning on baking it that morning so it will be extra delicious, but screw 'em, I'm making it the night before now. I'm also planning on packing my lunch that day. The Scrooge inside of me wants to come up with an excuse to get out of the dinner. I get off daily at 4:15 instead of 5pm so I can miss the worst traffic. So I'll have to sit around twiddling my thumbs until everyone else gets off, then eat restaurant food with people I'd rather not hang out with on Friday night. Oh gosh... that sounds incredibly mean! But really, I see these people 40 hours a week, do you have to cut into my weekend too?
Oh well, I'll get over it I guess. It just wouldn't be Christmas without being forced to do things you don't like.
