In shell shock

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

For the past four months we have had an exchange student from Italy living with us. We thought everything was going well. She felt like a part of our family. Last night, the organization that sent her, yanked her out of our house and we don't have any answers as to why this happened. We are hurting big time and don't know what to do with ourselves. It's pretty hard to keep going. Didn't get much sleep last night. Determined this won't knock me off track. If I gain weight back, I will feel even worse, so I'm not going to let it happen. I have been sick the past 2 weeks which doesn't help any. Not feeling like we will have a very Merry Christmas. Our daughter is devastated, since she feels like she lost a sister. Would appreciate support.

I would hope they would at least give you the courtesy of telling you why they did that. You need to be able to say good bye to her.

When I am frustrated about something I either go for a walk, or I journal about it until I get some sort of understanding of it. It is hard for something like this to happen at this time of year and I can understand why you are all hurting so, it would seem that you are entitled to some answers and I hope you will get them soon.

Try to keep on with your routine as best you can. Take out your frustration on your exercise routine, sometimes when I am upset I walk a bit longer and faster.
Take care of yourself, I hope you get some answers very soon. emoticon

emoticon sounds like you enjoyed and become close to the exchange student. I am sorry that they didn't give you any answers, but I am sure that she would not want you to be upset over the situation (easier said than done). I think that I would keep calling the organization and keep asking. Hang in there!! It's hard when your stressed to stay on track, but YOU can do it. emoticon emoticon Sending emoticon your way for a great day. emoticon Judy
