Shoe review + some

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

I finally hit the pavement in my new shoes yesterday. It was fantastic! It was 60-some degrees out and misty. My Pandora wasn't working on my phone so I just ran to my own beat. I honestly think I run better without music, but sometimes I really need it to keep me going. Without it though I'm able to focus on my breathing and get lost in myself. It's refreshing. I love it!

Yesterday I ran 2.5 miles in 35 minutes. REALLY SLOW, I know, but it was my second time out since being on a 2 month hiatus. Not bad. And even more important, I was able to jog pain free! My knees felt great, I had no cramping in my toes, and my ankles felt relaxed. It's amazing how a new pair of shoes can make you feel. It's definitely worth the time and the money to go somewhere you know will put you in a good pair of shoes.

I bought 5lbs of Cuties this weekend and they're almost all gone. I wondered when I bought them how we would consume all of them in a week, but we're doing it. I packed 2 in my lunch bag yesterday and 3 today. Hubby eats 3-4 of them at a time. I may have to buy two bags next week, or I'll find another fruit to try.

I've been spending some time on and on my nutrition tracker. I think I'm going to print out the grocery list and try to follow the meal plans this week. They really are helpful. It seems like a lot of food though and I don't know if we'd be able to get through all of it before it goes bad. It also looks like an expensive shopping trip and with the holidays we're trying to cut back at the store. Maybe I'll add a few new things to the cart and gradually increase my stores as I become used to snacking on fruit and veggies. i'm not a big snacker so the idea of snacking on anything is weird to me, but it also makes sense if it's done right.

i got my cardio and strength training in yesterday. I felt so prodcutive. I'm going to try to do that again today. Yay! I can't wait to weigh myself again, whenever I get around to buying a scale and figuring out where to put it in our house. I could just leave it in my gym bag and pull it out in the locker room (our bathroom is too small to keep it there). There's an idea!
