Need some prayers for BIL

Monday, December 10, 2012

This holiday season we knew would be rough for him. His mother (my MIL) passed away this past January and he was very close to his mother. Then his oldest son drowned in June, 2 days after he turned 21 and he saw it happen. He is not one who deals with feelings very well and has (and probably still is) turning to drugs and alcohol to stuff the feelings down.

I am praying that God comes to him and gives him strength to get though this. It cannot be easy to have buried a child.

So please send some prayers to my BIL Dan and his family to help them get through this time of year.

Thanks

It's tragic that people with very deep emotional feelings sometimes turn to substances to attempt to forget. I hope he finds strength is in allowing himself honesty in feeling his emotions. Best wishes.

How very sad for your BIL. I'm hoping he finds the strength to get through. My dear friends lost their son in a car accident on July 5. My heart aches for anyone who has gone through this.

My heart goes out to him BIG TIME. To your entire family. I will pray that God will draw him near and that your BIL will feel the comfort that only knowing Him can bring, in the face of deep sorrow.

There is so much in life that we don't understand here on earth. I had a conversation once with a woman who had suffered a deep loss. She believed the one she loved was now safely in the presence of God, yet struggled with believing He also cared about HER. The very God that held her loved one, was the same God that held His hand out to her. Once she understood that and began to seek God's love for her, she was able to begin to manage her grief.

Praying for peace for your poor BIL's hurting heart emoticon

The pain of loosing a child must be so great. Most men don't like to show emotion or weakness. He's unfortunately found a negative way to put a band-aid on his wound.

I emoticon your BIL and his family can find comfort and peace with those that still surround him/them during this first holiday season in spite of the great void of their son and mother.

Happy holidays to you and your family. emoticon

Praying that God will help him to have the strength and patience that it takes to get through something so painful. It cannot be easy to have so much hurt and especially with your child. I believe that losing one's child has got to be the most painful hurt there is. May God be with him and his family.
