Got an Update on the Little Boy I Helped

Monday, December 10, 2012

I went to the clubhouse today to use the stationary bike as a part of my knee strengthening exercises and the secretary called me to over to the office to talk. The little boy that I helped after getting hit by the truck on October 1st did lose his leg and has an infection in the other leg. He hasn't been on school since the accident happened. He is very angry and lashes out at his family. I can understand the anger issues and I am going to pray for him and his family for healing and peace. This is the second report that I have received since that horrific night. The first being a week later that he may lose his leg. I am so very sad for him. I have not heard anything about what happened to the man that hit him and the secretary has no idea either.

I can relate to his anger and his loss, even though I have not lost a leg I can relate to the same sense of loss of abilty. I also was in a car accident and have not been the same or abel to do many thinsg I could once do. But I learned anger does not change the way things became, but using that anger one can motivate and focus it towwards better things and getting better and fighting such evil. I pray this young person can learn first to forgive and then refocus his ability towards more useful endeavors; because anger wont change the way things are now. I pray hes gaining new insights which will help him get over his loss. I know ist nto easy to say "get over it" but appreciating the fact he is a survivor and nto dead, maybe he will realise his pluses. Many people dont survive a car accident! (I lost two brothers to two car accidents). Praying he can see something good in his loss. For he did survive. And things could have been worst, he could have become blinded or paralyzed from the neck down; best to appreciate what you have. Hoping he can. I appreciate every day I can still breath! susana

It is hard to understand no matter what the age, why something like has happened to you, and this little guy needs all the TLC he can get to come to grips with it. I will pray that God will send the right people into his life, and give him the peace he needs to overcome all the frustration so he can move forward. I'm praying also for you as you hurt for him and his family-all the best as you minister to them through prayer. emoticon

While I was in the hospital (the latter part of my stay) they put me on the 8th floor where most patients were amputees. I was there to learn how to walk again after losing the ability to after becoming gravely ill with Sepsis. What amazed me most about those with a limb missing was there pleasant dispositions. They were always upbeat & although this little man is angry with his family & the world right now, I'm sure he will become a God send for other kids who become amputees by not fault of their own by being a huge inspiration to them & a great friend. He just needs to learn this & with our prayers reaching far he will come to understand that he will be alright.

I know I would feel likely the same way if I lost a limb but I would have to get over it somehow. Dunno if I could at my age but where he is young & his whole life is still ahead of him I know he can make it though this ordeal that has changed his life radically.

I will pray for him & for his family to have understanding & patience at this most difficult time in his life.

    Pax & God Bless,

I am so sorry to hear this story about that poor boy. I can totally understand how he is feeling. It is very hard when you are having to deal with doctors on a daily basis. It can make you very angry because you want to get better soon.

I am so sorry that he had to lose his leg. I hope that they can give more info on the man that hit him. I hope that justice is done too.

I will make sure that I say prayers for this poor boy. I hope that everyone will be strong for him too. He needs everyone now.

    Best wishes to you all,

I'm so sorry to hear of his problems. It's sad, but especially for a young person - so hard for them to understand. I'll add him and his family to my prayers. emoticon

Lots of prayers going up here for all involved. Perhaps an intervention of several someones sending in well wishes to the young man may help him. The love of strangers is a powerful thing. I remember reading of a little girl who had been burned beyond belief and was in horrific pain. Mom sent out a blog and "thousands" of people (almost all strangers that just felt a need to be a little joy for a strangers child) began sending the child get well cards that mom hung in her hospital room. The outpouring of love and concern changed the child's outlook and ultimately her life. If you or someone else wished to do something along that line (maybe in care of a place or someone close to him) I for one would love to be part of it. Just a thought. Hugs and hugs (wouldn't want you to be lopsided)!! emoticon

I'm sure a lot of the anger has to do with losing his leg. I'll put him in my prayers too and God will help where He feels it's best needed.
