Boy howdy! What a weekend! I took the day off on Friday (I was at work, just decide not to stay!) since it was my Birthday. I got home about 9:40 or so (that's AM). As I pulled into our driveway I saw the front door on the house next door was wide open. Strange...I know the people that lived there left for L.A. 4-5 months ago. And no one has been seen around that house since. They had said they were going to sale it via a agent in L.A. but I kind of think they just walked away from it. Anyway...that door should NOT have been open. So I went in our house, told hubby, then called the cops. I mean I don't like the idea of people breaking into abandoned/empty houses and squatting. The cops came (two cars showed up), hubby and talked to them, then the went to the house with guns drawn! They didn't find anything, so they locked it back up and said they would make a few extra patrols in our neighborhood. Metro sometimes gets a bad rap, but a lot of the time they are there doing a outstanding job. The rest of Friday I help install the new shower faucet.
We have water pressure again! We can take a shower, flush the toilet, AND run the dishwasher all at the same time now!
Then Sat morning we headed out to get groceries. We made a fast stop at our bank (Navy Fed CU) so I could cash my Birthday check from mom. She always sends me $25. While we were there We decide to check how hard it would be to get a car loan. We've been talking about getting a newer car for me. Mine is at the nickle and dime stage. Well...30 mins or so later they were handing us a check for $30,000! Holy Moly! We went to lunch talking about how just because we had this check, that didn't mean we HAD to use it. It would exprie in 60 days if not used. We ate lunch and I went to the little girls room. I came back and hubby had found us a car. We called the dealership, said we were on our way, drove over there and checked it out. Even took it for a test spin. As of right now...it's setting in the parking lot here at work...my/our brand new 2012 Mustang GT! I LOVE it! I mean I'm not looking forward to the car payments (who does look forward to those?) but it's worth it. I posted a picture of it on Sat's short blog. We'll sell my 1995 Mustang GT (we hope to sell it for like..$3000), then hubby wants new brakes for the race car. And I'd like to bank some it for as a buffer car payment.
I kept getting up in the middle of the night checking on the new car Sat night.
Sunday was spent doing most of our Christmas shopping. Then laundry and getting the Christmas tree done.
Needless to say eating was over the place the three days of the weekend. I'm up weight wise again and didn't get my workout in today. I had to go buy a BDay card and gift for my daughter. Her BDay is Sat the 15th.
So that's it for me.....I'm hoping for a calm and sane evening tonight!
