40 years married! OMG! Dec. 9th!

Monday, December 10, 2012

I have no idea how that many years have gone by. We celebrated by having the phone guy fix our phones. emoticon

I gave hubby a very warm cardigan sweater he had been asking for. Lands End. Goes from casual to the office the ad said. He says it keeps him nice and warm because he is always cold. Now I need to take him to replace his wedding ring. Somehow it got away from him. Probably got tangled in his bedding and got washed or something.

When I made the wedding date-oh so long ago-- I thought it was way before Christmas. I was not too aware back then. so--thinking back--I made all those people travel from NYC to Buffalo 3 weeks before Christmas! I bet they wanted to kill us.

Happy Wedding Anniversary Chris! Being married for so many years is a Blessing and I only wish my marriage had been a happy and wonderful one. You now are his caretaker and a tender loving one. So happy you stay committed to him and are there for his needs. He sure didn't chose to be disabled that's for sure. God Bless You and your DH. Wishing you many more years of wedded bliss.

Love,

Jill

Happy Anniversary! My parents got married one week before Christmas (46 years this year) and my husband and I eloped 19 years ago on the same day! We had our wedding celebration 8 months later. I wanted to have the same anniversary as my parents to make it extra special!

Congratulations to both of you Chris! 40 years is quite an accomplishment at any time, but especially these days when everything is so short-lived!

What a nice way for the two of you to celebrate, just enjoying each other's company!

Congratulations. Yes, I can tell you how close Dec 9 is to Christmas. My birthday is Dec 13th. Thanking about changing it to June haha,
And doing the phone thing is just practical. And I've been married long enough to be practical too. Wish it was a cruise haha.

Congrats! Considering his health issues and your health issues, I'm sure trying to make a HUGE deal of it like taking a big trip would not have been any extra celebration than spending quality time together, remembering why you fell in love with each other.

There are people who get married on Christmas or on New Years, so I think doing it 3 weeks before isn't such a hassle. Each couple has to pick the date that works for them and/or is meaningful to them. It's their day so others either join in willingly or they should stay away and not complain. That's my two cents!

Congratulations!!! I made it fifteen and a half years,, wish I could have made it longer,, alas, life is a job..

I think it is great that your DH had his ring all these years.. you DO know that as son as you get the new one, the old one will appear. You can wear it around your neck!!
Remember, 40 is the new 20, so you should have another 50(the new 30) years together!!!!!!

Oh, how lovely that you celebrate by something so mundane, something so domestic, as 40 years of marriage should be, the way life truly is. And here you are, all these decades later, still taking care of him. I love that. It's truly inspirational. Congratulations on 40 years, and may you have many many more lovely years together ahead.
