Ups and Downs

On the upside, my 5K time is down.
On the downside, my weight is up.

*sigh*

Focusing on the positive, I've PR'ed my last 3 5K races, and in one of them, I was dressed as a hot dog. (I know, right?) On Saturday, I broke 28 minutes, and on Sunday, I finally broke 27 minutes! Neither race was chipped, and there is a possibility that either or both were a little short, but either way, I'm pretty sure that my speed is improving for short distances.

I can't pretend that I don't know why my weight is up. It started with over eating on Thanksgiving weekend, and extended itself to lazy food logging (or rather, food logging in denial - not logging because you just *know* if you log, you'll be over - so not adding things to the log, because you don't want to face reality).

Every day is an opportunity to start something new - so at least I've logged a good day of food for today - and I plan to stick to it.
If I can add some strength training and cardio to it, and if I'm really good, a decent amount of sleep, I'll be on the road back to weight loss in no time.

    I can't believe I don't *have* a picture of me running in the hotdog costume. My husband ran as a beer bottle, and he was 2nd fastest costumed runner for the men. (Though, the winner was just basically wearing under armor and a short batman cape - you should hear my husband complain about it - lol!)

Sadly, the race was at the Pt. Pleasant boardwalk, & less than 3 days later, it was washed out to sea. :-(

    You are building muscle and it is heavier than fat so really wouldn't sweat it..just keep doing what you are doing..improve that time..

    I cannot believe you didn't include a pic of yourself as a hot dog. LOL! Awesome on the PR's. Today is a good step, let's do this!
