60 day juice feast: experiencing the benefits

Monday, December 10, 2012

Day 45/60! 15 days to go!
I was asked last week, "What heath benefits have you noticed so far?"
I wish I would have thought about writing this down sooner.

*Spiritual revelation and boldness!

*Lots of energy, very focused, skin is more radiant.

*I didn't have any health "problems" before, but we are not diagnosed with a problem until it is chronic and advanced. You have seen it, I am sure, when someone is perfectly healthy and then... Well then they aren't. My plan is to take action toward healing my body BEFORE a doctor tells me I am sick.

*I haven't had any flus or colds, tis the season.

*I had a skin irritation of some sort on my left foot, that is gone.

*I weighed 140 when I started, I am 124 and have lost 10 inches as of this morning. My BMI is officially "normal."

*I am overcoming emotional addictions to food, by simply fasting for 60 days and riding out everyday life without being able to HAVE food.

*I am sure my body could tell you more that I don't even know about!

Wow! That is impressive. I've been juicing lately and love it, but it would be hard to go 100%. I'm going to have to go back and look at your prior blogs. Love how you describe how you feel now. It sounds so terrific! Hope it's OK I added you as a friend. Hope you might add me back too.

Hopefulhippo: hmmmm... Honestly I never thought about it. I want to make a compost for it. I also have heard about using all of it in various foods. Muffins, cookies, soups, etc. I never thought of it as "wasting" because I knew that it was not going to allow my digestion to rest if I consumed it. And I wanted my body to rest while it healed or repaired. :)

How are you doing now? What are your plans? Will you be doing a fast soon?

    Another question for you.

How do you get past the feeling of wasting all that fiberous stuff?

Hi Steph, I buried myself in the knowledge (literally) that I HAVE eaten. I read so many books. In all the juicing books it will say, "your body is getting all it needs". I just keep telling myself the same thing. My body is getting all it needs. My body is getting all it needs. I drink lots and lots of water and drink up to 128oz of juice every day.
What you speak of is a PHYSICAL ADDICTION to food. The HABIT of eating. This is something that MUST be overcome in order to maintain a positive weight over time.

How do you deal with cravings? When I did a 5 days liquid detox, the biggest issue was the craving to bite something, not even hunger, but the feeling you have not "eaten".
