C minus 15, and my first Christmas Party!

Monday, December 10, 2012

The Christmas party/ cookie exchange was a blast! I did end up drinking a couple glasses of wine, but I kept them small (which is not my usual). And I ate quite a bit, but it was my only meal of the day.

Here's what I wore...

I was the first one to leave, because today is my last day of school this semester and I have a final. So, since nobody was watching me, I only got a small amount of cookies!!! Yay!! I ate a couple but I've decided that I got it out of my system and I don't need any more this week!!
I'm not anticipating any eating challenges today!

My next holiday event will take place next Sunday, where we will have lunch at a Yacht club with family and then a gift exchange with dessert afterward at one of our houses. I also have a non-Christmas event next Friday when we're going out with some friends for an end-of-semester celebration at a Mexican restaurant. Margaritas WILL happen on that night!!

Highlights: I'm still down on the scale this morning!! 138.8 lbs!!

Lowlights: None... feeling pretty good this morning!

    You looked hot, hot, hot.

I don't think you need to say you "ended up" having a couple of glasses of wine. That sounds like very reasonable behavior for a holiday party. Ditto the cookie-eating. The problem with most people's overdoing it at holiday parties is that they live as if most days are eating holidays, as if that's the only way to treat themselves. Their capacity for overeating is too developed already!

I gently suggest you concentrate on the experience of eating that felt right as your measure and reward moreso than the scale. The scale need not be the measure of your right or wrong behavior. Though I know there is a lot of cultural support for it...

FANTASTIC! This time of year is so hard, isn't it? All those "traditional" things staring at us and making this journey harder than it needs to be.

As a side note: I think I wore that exact outfit last weekend. I loved the opaque tights because they disguised my really big scar. YAY!

Good good good! Are you as content as I feel you must be looking at these pics?!

I am suggesting you tell us, here in your blog, just how many margaritas there 'will' happen - before you leave for the party. Accountability, remember?! emoticon
