Thank goodness for neighbors who smoke...

Monday, December 10, 2012

Yesterday morning around 5:30 am, was I the computer room watching a YouTube video on crocheting and heard some noise outside.

I thought..well the paper truck must be running late...but that next sound was very loud. Then I heard the next door neighbor yell some choice words as well as " Stop!" I look out the window to see a car in the street beside my son's car and hubby's truck (we have to park them on the street since we have a single drive/garage). I run out the door to see the car speeding away in the fog.

All of our cars were untouched and fine because the neighbor was outside smoking. He yelling just as the car full of teens pulling up to my son's car with the back window down and the broken crutch handing out to break the side mirror, but they dropped the crutch out of the window when he yelled.

It looks like these kids broke out at least 4 mirrors before they were stopped. I doubt the police found them, since the fog kept us from reading the license plate, but we can hope!

We have a driveway like yours and my car was keyed one nite. Luckily, my neighbor was coming home from work & caught the little snot. 11 yrs old, 1:45 in the mrng. His parents paid to have the car fixed & the police & CPS were all over them for not knowing where their kid was at that hour.

I hope they find the kids but probably not. Good luck!

My goodness! Thank goodness for the conscientious neighbor! You've almost gotta hope one of those boys needed the crutch and is having a hard time getting around the halls at school today. I hope they catch the kids.

I usually curse my smoking neighbors because I can't leave my windows or balcony door open without getting a sinus infection thanks to their stench and poisons drifting in to my home. Good to know sometimes it's useful! So glad your son's car didn't get damaged!
