From Today's Church Bulletin - Dialogue With Debi

Sunday, December 09, 2012

The Pastor's note in the Bulletin this morning was actually the Intro to Our Children's Christmas Play. It was the story of Jesus' Birth, told through the eyes of the Animals who were in the Stable that night.

"The Kingdom Of God belongs to those who are like Children", Christ said. Jesus wasn't idealizing childhood or emphasizing a Child's innocence with those words. No, He was pointing to the status of a Child. If you want to get somewhere spiritually, you have to humble yourself like a child, because you have to get small enough to fit through the Door that leads to the Kingdom of God.
emoticon Every time we feel ourselves being led away from Childlike Simplicity and Dependence on God, we must return to the Nursery. We must resist and remove those things that lure us into a state where we are not Wholly and Completely Dependant on God.
