Gotta sing...no voice!

Sunday, December 09, 2012

Hello! let me start by saying that it hasn`t been easy with Hubby losing his job. He hasn`t got any unemployment money yet and it has been 4 weeks so hopefully he gets some this week. We haven`t built up our savings much since we had to use it all last time he got laid off from the job he held for 21 years, so we have already gone through what little we did have.
We are running out of our meds but will be seeking some assistance this week.
I had a sore throat last weekend but nothing major. Then I got a little cough and clogged up a little. Now my voice is really raspy and rough. I have choir practice tomorrow evening. We are singing at the Christmas program at church next Sunday, the 16th and at the candlelight service on Christmas eve. usually when I lose my voice it is gone for a good month. Please pray that I get it back and get over this cough reall soon, in time to sing. My MIL will be coming on the 16th to come to the church service and I would hate to dissappoint her and have no voice. She will be staying overnight and it should be a wonderful time.
I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season. I love this time...the weeks before Christmas. So full of anticipatation and expectation. I nerver want it to end!

I certainly hope that you feel better soon.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Losing a job is painful in so many ways. We have been through that, and I know how you feel.
Good luck on getting your meds.

I'm sure you know the drill; lots of fluids and rest your voice. I always found hot tea with honey and lemon soothing. The more you use it the longer it will take. Be well.
Have a wonderful holiday with your family.
