Day 350

Sunday, December 09, 2012

Wow! My 1 yr. SP Anniversary is just around the corner it seems. It has gone fast and it's been great. I was just thinking today how far I've come and how glad I am to have left the old me behind. That's Christmas present enough in itself!! I didn't realize it at the time, but I had no idea of the magnitude of a Christmas gift I would be giving myself this year by starting out on the journey on 12.26.11. I'm bubbling over happy about that!!

OK....what a pleasant surprise it was when I saw the food at the Christmas party last night. They had a BIG salad - no fat free dressings, but I've learned to eat salad with NO dressing if need be. That's what I did. They also had a 3 medley broccoli, cauliflower & carrot vege dish that was wonderful. I skipped the scalloped potatoes w/cheese. They even had grilled chicken breasts!! I was able to go thru that food line without so much as a bobble. All of it was wonderful too. The party was fun and I'm sure everyone there had a good time - I know we did. Any concerns I had about the food were for nothing. Mama always told me not to worry until I had the facts and you know Mama is always right.

Jetta & I did the big hill today then went into the woods for more cardio walking. Did a strength training session tonight - core; lower body.

Thanks for stopping by today if you had time. Hope your Sunday was wonderful and that you got a good workout in. emoticon emoticon

My clinic cracks me up. About 10 staff have joined to go on a percentile loss diet...winner gets all the cash...but the competition ranges from 120's to almost 300 #s...and top it off...they have brought in one treat after the other even on weigh days...I...being fat...was of course invited to participate and 'get in shape for the holidays'. I declined to some pretty blatant looks of contempt and one of the smaller women made the statement that I should know 'the more weight you have to lose, the easier it is"....interesting how ignorant our society can be. I'm happy for your's not easy getting started and I amire you for being able to maintain. Keep Sparkin'!!!
