For our second excursion we went swimming with the dolphins. For Jeff and I, it was our 2nd experience - and we loved it. Dolphins are very interactive and friendly (not just because they are train - two of the dolphins were actually in the other aquarium and they kept looking at us wanting to be part of it too - but the trainer said that they are not ready for the job!).
Maggie was a little bit intimidated at first but she sure felt better when she was in the water...
Emma could not have a bigger smile!
And a picture of us all!
After that we went to Pilar beach - a must when in Cayo coco!
... but I will save that for my next blog. ...
A quick update on my Go the Distance 2012 Challenge. BTW, when in vacation on Cuba I managed to go for 2 runs on the roads outside the resort. It was nice and HOT!
My new total distance for 2012 is 1911.5 km (1187 miles) (as of today). Since last report I covered 160.5 km / 99 miles; that includes walking, running and biking.
I might make it to 2000 km this year! My total for 2011 was 1970km... Not sure if I will beat this but I can say that I am consistent!
My running goals for 2013 will include:
10km / 17 Feb (winter climate!!!) : to qualify for the Running Canadian Forces Nationals (Master Category) in May...
Running CF Nationals Weekend - May 2013. I am not sure what I will sign up for yet... (Suggestions are welcomed!) I know I qualify for all (5km - 10km - HM) except the full marathon - which I never did before, however I am tempted to start a training program and go for it! So - during this weekend, I can only enter for one event as a Canadian Forces representative. I think I will do the 10km on the Saturday and the Full marathon on the Sunday - so I can get a chipped time for a full and then be eligible to compete for the 26.2M in the Women Master Category Nationals ...
I will run again the Half Marathon Army Run in September - we (my team mates and I) will be running for keep our title ( we wont 1st place in 2012).
For Fun : will complete a few more events ... as the opportunities will occur!
It has been really difficult to find the time to blog lately... to make it a short story - I am doing ok with what I consider a priority, and I am trying to keep up with the rest of the "TO DO" list! So much in this time of year!
Goal 1: GOAL 1- Staying in range. GREAT...
My stay in range streak is go very well (I have only one red dot on my report since coming back from Cuba and it is not the result of emotional eating - attending a function or eating out... actually, considering my calorie deficit for that day I was still under...). I am making great progress with reaching my GW (Before the trip I was a 2lbs from reaching my goal and then I gain an extra 7 lbs... OUCH!!! I am now back to where I left ... TRACKING works!
Goal 2: Back into Action! ... See above ... and I am making time in my schedule to move it. When I don;t feel like it, I start my day with exercise !
Goal 3 - Self-care and sleep ... This is in my top 3! I did make time for it this weekend and I am feeling better tonight. I have more energy and I feel refresh, ready to start a new week.
Goal 4- go outside... I need to do this! That would be good for my mental... I have to say that my virtual race this week was cold and PEACEFUL! It was neat to see only two sets of tracks on the trail (including mine!).
