The Trouble With Fat

Sunday, December 09, 2012

How many times have we stepped on the weigh scale and found to our dismay the results were not what we expected? Especially when we've done everything we know to do in order to lose those unwanted pounds of cellulite and the scales reads out 1 lousy pound.
When it comes to weight loss we have got to STOP all negative thinking! It's time we change our thinking. My God look at what 1 "measly" pounds actually looks like. That HAS to change your perspective!

And I've now lost 100 of these?
How many have you lost?
How soon we forget what fat does to the human body, the health issues it creates, the effects it has on all aspects of our lives; mind body and spirit, even life threatening

Why do we do that to ourselves?

Look if I were to place one pound of muscle on a scale and one pound of fat on a scale, they will both weigh one pound. The difference is in total volume.
The difference between a 250 pound woman and a 120 pound woman might be very obvious on the outside, but take a look at what they look like on the inside. This body scan comparison clearly shows the distinctions between the two.

On the 250 pound woman you can see the lower bone density, the fatty heart, the low percentage of muscle, the size of the intestinal tract, and even the enormous amount of fat around the waist. The list just goes on and on. If looking in the mirror doesn’t motivate you to want to lose fat, hopefully this will.

We have a brand new year about to start and with that we'll all start out with enthusiasm, and new motivation. And those first couple of weeks maybe even the first month we stay on program with the lifestyle changes we have chosen, we start losing and the results are in! We've had success. But then the scales stop and because we don't continue seeing the results we expect for awhile, it begins to wane? What happens to our motivation, our determination and resolve? Why do we let discouragement and the thoughts of failure replace them?

Listen, every last one of us has the empowerment to push through. To reclaim, and utilize the amazing power that you possess at the core of your being. there is no-one out there that needs to give you power over your own life. Personal empowerment is an inside job. Yes, I know that empowering yourself to live the life that you know deep down you are truly meant to live can seem like an impossible task when you are feeling trapped or powerless. In this situation, empowerment can throw you a rope, hold a light for you, and give you the encouragement that you need to begin climbing out of the place that you are in. You do realize that the first part of empowerment has already taken place? You already have all the strength, power, authority, and capability you could ever need to live your life with passion and purpose. There is no giving or delegating to be done. As a human expression of the Divine life source, you were born a creation of pure loving power. It is from that point on, however, that the process of disempowerment begins.

Part of empowerment involves not only the circumstance of gaining power (this bit is already done!), but developing confidence in you own capacities and your right and ability to exercise that power.

The initial task of empowerment is to help you figure out the specific ways that this learned and conditioned disempowerment has affected your current reality. Any feeling of powerlessness comes from a belief, or a pattern of thought, which has created a blockage in your ability to recognize, access, and use your inner power. In recognizing where these blocks are, it is then possible to work at transforming the underlying beliefs, and healing and releasing these painful and limiting blockages.

Empowerment helps you to focus on these glimpses of the strength you possess within, and to nurture and build on your ability to connect with this powerful part of yourself.

Self esteem building is an important part of empowerment life coaching, as your confidence in your own goodness and worthiness create a vital foundation for being able to increasingly step into your own power. Gradually increasing the incorporation of positive thoughts, actions, and activities into your daily life paves the way for greater feelings of empowerment.

Empowerment can be likened to working with you to landscape your inner garden, in order to create beauty and fulfillment in your life. The process starts with weeding out the tangled roots of disempowerment, nurturing and preparing the soil of your conscious and subconscious mind for allowing a sense of empowerment to take root and flourish. We then move on to tending the budding recognition of your own innate power, and providing nourishment for the growth and blossoming of magnificent empowerment. These are the stages of empowerment that can guide and support you through, and I would be honored to be invited to walk with you through 2013 in building the beautiful and empowered life that you were born to live.

Thanks for this. It is an amazing difference! I also think you should point out that a pound of muscle is much smaller than that pound of fat.

Sometimes you don't "lose" that pound (or more than one pound) because you replaced it with muscle! Muscle BURNS calories instead of just absorbing them. The best way to tell if your "fitness plan" is working is to measure your waist and thighs!

My goodness - some powerful stuff there. Especially the 2 pairs of contrast pics. The scan of the 250 lb body plus the pic of that body full of bread and soda and stuff is a huge eye opener.

Thanks for sharing.
