Today is day 284 of my on track streak!

I'm celebrating another NSV!

In 2007, hubby surprised me with a beautiful wedding and engagement ring. Nothing huge or fancy, but it meant the world to me, because it was the first wedding and engagement ring set I ever had! This is my second marriage (my first husband was killed by a drunk driver) but I've never had an engagement ring or wedding ring before.

Anyway, hubby was so proud when he presented me with the rings back in 2007, and I was really touched. I wore those rings with pride...but then I started gaining weight, and the rings got tighter and tighter. Eventually it got to the point where I just couldn't wear them anymore, because they were so tight that it hurt! So I sadly put the rings in my jewelry box. I could tell hubby was hurt and disappointed that I had to stop wearing them....and I felt very ashamed of myself.

In March, when I started my streak, one of the things I most looked forward to was the day when I would be able to wear those rings again. I started trying them on once a month or so, and always felt a bit disappointed when they just didn't fit. At first, I couldn't even get them back on my finger at all. But as time went by, I was able to squeeze them back on, but they were still just too tight for me to wear them comfortably.

The last time I tried them on was at the end of October, and they ALMOST fit. I was tempted to wear them, but I knew they'd just cut off my circulation! So I reluctantly put them back in the jewelry box.

Well, I guess you know where this is going, right? This morning I decided to try the rings on again...and they fit! They fit perfectly! Not too tight at all! I can wear them comfortably, and I think they look darn good on me! So that is my NSV for today...I can wear my rings again!

I actually had another NSV. When hubby saw that I was wearing the rings, his face lit up. He looked so happy, and so proud of me! Seeing that look of pride on his face just made my day!

What a touching accomplishment. Sometimes we forget there are many reasons for losing weight, not just for our physical health. Thank you for sharing such a personal moment. It really made my day.

That alone is reason enough to lose weight! My wedding ring hasn't fit since baby number 2, even though I weighed less after baby 2 than before. I was wearing my dear departed mother's ring, which is a little large, but with weight gain, even that didn't fit.

My NSV is that I can once again wear my Mother's ring, but I am waiting for that day when I can wear my wedding ring instead. I think it isn't far away, just a couple months. In fact an unwritten goal of mine is to wear it comfortably by my 10th wedding anniversary in March.

Yep! this is me right now. I can not wear my wedding ring set. I have had it sized numerous times, from bigger to smaller. Right now it is way to small :( i can actually wear my hubbys wedding band! I just started my journey... this is actually day 2 of it. I am hoping that in time i will be posting this same type of story!

NSVs are great, but this one is so sweet. I can just imagine how you felt to slip those rings on your fingers. You deserve a round of sweet applause. (can you hear it)

What a beautiful NSV, and one I can relate to as I had to have my rings cut off. After losing weight I had them fixed, and now they are too big! It's so important to embrace the NSVs and be proud of each and every step forward we make! Way to go!

I completely understand and am so happy for you!

I haven't worn my wedding ring set for over 7 years due to my weight gain. Everyone tells me to get them re-sized but I always felt like if I did, that I would be giving up.

I look forward to the day when I can put them back on my hand. I'm aiming for February/March of 2013.

Thank you for sharing your excitement! Congratulations!

What a great blog! I agree with a lot of other comments that this must be one of the best NSV's I've read about! Congrats...you're obviously making such great progress! I just had one of my rings resized to a smaller size and you'll probably be there one day as well!

Great story!! My original set disappeared from my dresser many yrs. ago and my kids didn't know where they went. Did find the wedding ring but couldn't get it on. This past yr., after being missing for many yrs., the solitarie appeared!! I am wearing them on my little finger as the knuckle on my ring finger is much larger but I love the fact I found them and I can put them on a finger. This wouldn't have happened a couple yrs. ago. So a big emoticon on your success!!

I hurt my ring finger in October and actually had to have my wedding band cut off. I have so much swelling that I can't put a ring on yet--but I feel so empty without it!! Congrats on getting yours back on!
