If you read my Spark page information you know I have been working on losing weight since May 9, 2009. I've had a great education about changing habits in the process to improve my health. I joined Spark People August 25, 2009.
My Spark Friends have kept me on my journey to better health. This journey will last a lifetime. I have not made it to Easy Street or the magic number we call goal weight. However, I know I will never give up, never surrender or to use another word: Quit
I got frustrated during a long plateau. My plateau ended in a surge back up the scale for a few months. A struggle with emotional eating took hold and I was scared and depressed.
I decided I had to lose those pounds. I started to consider this journey is really about my self-esteem. I had to go to counseling for a while. I finally got back to feeling good about me. My counselor released me. When that happened I was scared and also relieved. This is a lifelong journey of self discovery.
Recently I seem to have broken some mental barrier and I have been losing weight. Back in 2009 I was not thinking about the maintaining part of this picture. I realize now my body has to gradually adjust to my current weight at any given time. It has been over 20 years since I weighed less than 215 pounds. I have a new attitude. I Feel Good...Isn't that the name of a James Brown song?
