So far so good!! I've made it 14 days of my SparkStreak so far!! WOO HOO!! There have been days that I *almost* didn't get any exercise in, either because I forgot, or because I was running short on time, but because I've given myself "permission" to only do 10 minutes, I have managed to do SOMETHING every day!!
I am so proud of myself!! Shortly after I started this SparkStreak, I joined the 28 Day Bootcamp Challenge: www.sparkpeople.com/mysp
Because of THAT, I have been challenging myself a little more than I think I would on my own, and have done a 10 minute toning video each day, along with a minimum of 10 minutes of other activity. I am almost done with the second week, and there are definite physical changes that are taking place! Last night I was showing my husband from the side what I look like with "engaged abs", and even he was amazed!! I haven't been able to "engage my abs" for YEARS!! (Thank you 8 pregnancies and 5 C-sections!) It's enough to make a believer out of THIS girl!
Even on the days when Idontwanna exercise, the 10 minutes that I attempt, along with the video (and most days Yoga to end the day), I am SO GLAD that I ended up doing it, despite how (insert word here: busy, tired, exhausted, bored, crabby, etc etc) I may be. Like last night...we were lazy ALL DAY LONG. I'm not kidding you - it was one of those "wearing my pajamas, laying around with blankets and pillows, how many of the 30 Christmas movies that we have can we get in, I don't feel like cooking go find something in the fridge", kind of days. Evening came. I had done ZERO all day. I felt like doing less than that! But I didn't want my Streak defeated so fast. I made a commitment, so I am going to see it through. So, I picked a 10 minute Pilates video, my 10 minute Bootcamp video, and my 25 minute Yoga. Once I was done, I was actually kind of mourning the fact that I hadn't taken the opportunity to do and cardio earlier in the day so that I could feel even better than I did once I completed those workouts! Wow - what an attitude change in just 2 short weeks!
So, I'm keeping the momentum going - I've got 2 weeks and 2 days of Bootcamp left. After that, it's just over 2 weeks until the next round of BLC starts...and I fully intend to join it this round. I will probably either continue on with the Bootcamp videos daily, or I will find ones that work similar body parts and do those, just to keep working on strengthening, because I can see it helping! (It's helping my cardio too! I can feel that as well.)
