Next step: Quit Smoking

I have made some significant changes to my lifestyle and have improved my looks and my health. I've decided it's time to take the biggest step and quit smoking. I know it is the most significant change I can make to be healthy but that is not the reason I'm quitting. I HATE how much I have to spend to buy cigarettes! I also hate interrupting what I am doing to go smoke. I don't like having to figure out where or when I am going to be able to smoke when I am making plans.

So as of tomorrow I quit. Here is my plan:

I am using the Quit for Life program that was offered through work. I will use the nicotine patch supplemented with nicotine lozenges. I will use 10 minute exercise breaks when the stress level becomes too high. I will have lollipops and healthy snacks to keep my hands and mouth occupied.

I will NOT allow myself to gain weight. I am drastically slowing down my weight loss goal to only lost about 6 pounds over the next 3 months. This gives me more calories to work with and less stress over the scale.

I know this will be hard but I have some wonderful support. I have JeffAllen and the Classy Quitters team here, as well as the Quit for Life coaches. I can DO THIS!

    emoticon and you will be so much happier once you are free from cigs. I quit last May and things are so much better. I did try it once with a smoking friend and it burned my throat. (Yay!) I'm not going back! No more smelly clothes, hair and breath. No more wasting money on something that hurts me. It's time to look ahead to a healthier YOU! Easy no, worth it YES! emoticon
