Random title, I know, but it IS all relevant to my Saturday. I ‘m feeling good now and it is because I have been keeping my eyes on the prize. The “Christmas Present for Me” Team has been keeping me on track with my program. Thank you SNOWANGELDIVA! She challenged the team to just two simple goals:
1. Drink 10 cups Water
2. Stay in Calories Range
By reaching for these goals I did not feel overwhelmed and have made great progress weight-wise and more importantly, in my MINDSET. Have I met both of these goals each and every day? No, BUT I am trying my best and not “giving up” if I have a day where I am over my calories. When this happens, it is a MINDFUL choice that is carefully calculated and weighed.
CHEESECAKE FACTORY:
Yesterday my friend and I were shopping in an area where we had not been in a long time. We were looking for some specialty store when we stumbled into a Cheesecake Factory that we did not now was there. I have not been to one in YEARS, so we went there for lunch. I played it smart and got the “Skinnylicious” veggie burger with a salad (DEElish!). My friend just HAD to order the avocado rolls. DAMMIT. Well, I just HAD to try them. Anyway, long-story short, when I got home and looked everything up, I ended up being over for the day but I did not beat myself up over it. I thought about the FOUR things that I did RIGHT:
1. I did not eat the entire veggie burger bun (I could have, but I stopped myself).
2. When reaching for one of the avocado rolls, I selected the SMALLEST one (they were unevenly cut on the diagonal). Usually, I would look for the LARGEST.
3. I never even touched the bread basket. Oh, I thought about it, but in the end I realized that it is just bread and nothing really special and not worth the extra calories.
4. I drank water. LOTS.
COFFEE MAKER:
It DIED yesterday morning and I had to do my Sparking with TEA. Tea is NOT meant for the morning. Tea is for the afternoon or evenings when you’re feeling a little chilly or need a little soothing. But, I (sigh) did not let my disappointment take over and I dealt with it. I told the hubby that I would need to pick one up, but he INSISTED on being the one to buy it and bought me this spaceship coffee maker. Not what I would have selected, but I thanked him profusely as he was trying to be nice (I would have gone for the cheapest model).
FIVE POUND BEAD:
The pretty blue bead is the bead I bought myself as my “Christmas Present From Me!” for losing 5 pounds. No, I did not wait until Christmas. Liz didn’t either, OK? Besides, I like looking at it on my wrist and what it represents. FIVE POUNDS. I already bought all my other beads and will add them each time I lose another five pounds. No, I did not win the Powerball. These were cheap ones I got from A.C. Moore.
