Suspend doubt...

Sunday, December 09, 2012

I got some new pants. They fit well. I wanted to go to a Christmas Party. I gave away my Christmas sweater because it was too bit. That is a good thing. So I ended up wearing a plain red shirt to the Christmas party. A couple of people said I looked good. I feel bad because I gained a bit of weight over the last few months. I am looking better than I did at the beginning of the year. I am finishing the year with a net win.

How do I get over it?

It seems that I look better in fitted clothes that baggy clothes. Even if I think they show to many lumps ect.

I will just accept that my friends are trying to be nice and feel happy for the compliment. so hard for me.

Good job! We're our own toughest critic and your friends can see your figure changing even though it may be hard for you to process and adjust to the change. I can remember being a size 4 after a huge loss and still getting down on myself. The mental part is sometimes harder than the physical. Congrats on the compliment!

I agree that it's best to just say thanks then try to believe it later! I'm sure you look better in fitted clothes than in baggy one. We all do! Wear them even if you don't feel comfortable in them. I did that and now I don't like wearing baggy things....who knew?!

Congrats on the compliment....I have a hard time accepting them also.

Since you've had success in wt loss, maybe it's time to get out of the comfort zone of 'baggy' clothes....start wearing fitter clothes around the house and then venture out. It's not easy, but after a while, it becomes your new norm!

Hey you look better than last year! That's a big plus in my book.
Yes the trend for more fitted (and colorful) clothing is nice, it definitely beats getting something from that famous designer Omar (the tent maker).
As for the compliments, if they took the time to say something nice, a simple thank you is nice. Whether you agree with them or not. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, perhaps they have noticed something you have not.

Kudos to you for all the steps forward you have made.

It is so hard to accept compliments sometimes. Just smile and say thank you!
