Okay, I've owned up to the scale and we're back to being buddies, sort of [I'm still 2 pounds above my "lowest" weight, but now I'm weighing in at Weight Watchers, and I don't weigh in naked, so I'm willing to count those 2 pounds as clothes!]. But I kept avoiding the tape measure. I said I'd start at the beginning of the month... and then forgot. And then went on a trip to New York. And then forgot to take measurements when I got back. So I said I'd take measurements when I woke up this morning, before my Weight Watchers meeting. Yep, guess who forgot.
[By the way, I was up 0.2 at my weigh-in but that's not bad for a trip to New York!]
I just remembered at 11pm and my measurements might be fairly different from what morning measurements would be, due to all the food I ate, but it's better than nothing, right? So I took my measurements and... well, they're not terribly horrible but not great, either. They're basically what I expect after not doing any real strength training consistently for a few months.
waist: 34.5 inches [+0.5]
hips: 41 inches [-0.5]
thigh: 26 inches [+1.0]
upper arm: 13.5 inches [+1.0]
neck: 14 inches [+0.75]
Guess who needs to add pushups back into her routine... yep, that would be me. It's funny how my measurements have gone up so much when my weight hasn't really changed. Meh.
Tomorrow, I'm going to the gym for the first time in three months [!!]. I've got my gym bag packed and everything already. I haven't been in so long, not because I've been slacking but because I was running outside and taking advantage of my home equipment. But now that the weather's turned cold, my lungs are really struggling so it's time to turn to the treadmill for my running for a few months [my asthma does NOT like cold weather. It doesn't really give me trouble the rest of the year, though, so I guess that's tolerable]. I also just got some new, puncture-proof inner tubes for my bike so hopefully they'll be as advertised and I won't get flats every time I take my bike out [because that will both reduce my gym trips AND trips to WW].
I'm kind of curious to see how far I'll be able to run on the treadmill... I've always found treadmill running to be easier, so we'll see.
Anyway, back to work on getting those measurements down!
